Nana’s Green Tea | Plaza Singapura

Hi Minna-San! πŸ‘‹πŸ»

As we are finding a place to dine at, we chance upon this Japanese restaurant at Plaza Singapura, with dummy displays of its dishes and desserts. Look at how tantalising and attractive they were~ so, we ended up finding ourselves queuing to enter. πŸ˜‹

The ambience was okay. Not fantastic but decent. We ordered a unagi don each, and shared a green tea dessert.

Unagi Don $17.80 (excl gst and service charge)

Warriors Rating: 6.5/10

Portion was smaller than expected. When we saw the picture on the menu, we thought it would be of a pretty decent size that could fill our stomach. However, when the dish was served, we were quite shocked at the size of the serving. Within a few mouthful, one could actually finish this bowl. It wasn’t as satisfying as we thought it would be. However, as per all other unagi don, the eel was decently tasteful with the standard teriyaki sauce. If you’re craving for unagi and yet, not too hungry nor looking for something that fills your stomach, then go ahead with it. 😊 it should satisfy your craving. But if you’re going into the restaurant with an empty stomach, and looking for something filling, I would suggest you to order something else. 😌

We ordered a dessert as Nana’s green tea is famous for its matcha dessert, we ordered a Matcha Parfait. ❀️

Matcha Shiratama Parfait $11.80 (excl gst and service charge)

As you can see, we ordered without the whipped cream so as to reduce the calories taken in. πŸ˜›

The matcha ice cream on top was so good! The bitter matcha with the sweet red bean paste is really a heavenly match! Not that I haven’t seen this combination before, but this is probably one of the most commonly used and successful combination for desserts! One would never get sick of this~ ❀ The soft and chewy mochi was an added bonus as well! The only thing we thought was redundant was the layer of generous cornflakes. I know cornflakes do give the dessert a touch of crunchiness, but we thought that the space could have been used for more vanilla soft serve ice cream or other ingredients~ πŸ˜› haha. Just us, being cheapo-minded. heh. Also, it took us quite a while to finish munching those crispy cornflakes, so by the time we actually touched the vanilla soft serve ice cream, it has more or less melted into liquid form.. Thus, this was a disappointing factor.

When we finally finish munching those cornflakes, we mixed the sweet vanilla soft serve ice cream with the bittersweet Kanten jelly with matcha syrup, to even out the bitter and sweet. And yes, I would say the bottom was refreshingly good as well. Overall, I would say, if you happen to pass by Nana’s green tea, do give its matcha desserts a try! As for mains, I have no further comment until I try other dishes next time! πŸ˜›
